Likeitlikeitis ========= A special occasion That comes every year On your mind As the event draws near We do not like surprises We do not like surprises A predictable course That does not deviate Has worked for the others Let's just replicate We do not like surprises We do not like surprises We do not like surprises So scared of Sammy Davis Junior vision In their faces Like the bars of a prison Have no plan To rethink their position In their minds Then, there's no decision
3.
Peels 03:38
Peels ===== People drive away Three shifts each day Til late one night It was the bright lights See the peels on the ground Thrown out, left behind The black peels on the ground The solid yellow line Does crazy things to the mind Bent metal broken glass cart, hit stays deer Smacked off track, couldn't steer clear See the peels on the ground Thrown out, left behind The black peels on the ground All they left was the rind See the peels on the ground Thrown out, left behind The solid yellow line Does crazy things to the mind

Explain It To Me ============ Why do I resist Getting out of bed? I keep resetting the alarm instead Sleep is always The best escape But in my dreams I'm still awake - awake Why do I resist Walking out the door? Home leaves me wanting more A lot can happen once you leave A lot more than we want to believe Why do i fight sometimes Just to breathe? Would you please Explain it to me? Why do I resist A helping hand? I don't believe in my fellow man We're headed downhill Too fast to stop Falling back down From the top Why do I fight sometimes Just to breathe? Why am I so blind I can't see? Can you do anything To help me? Won't you please Explain it to me?

Intertwined 03:18
Intertwined ========= Weave the waterlogged wood Form the strong vessel The design, intricate and good To twist with another To twist with another Take the small strands of damp hair Braids that twist and turn Together, such a nice pair To clasp o'er and fold We know the rope is going to hold No matter what the weight It withstands the night and day Heat and cold To wind about something Time and again We return to each other Find that we fit Never to be replaced With another To twist with another

Perigee 04:23
Perigee ====== Somehow empty But dirty all the same The bus stop stands there Sitting alone in the rain The city filled with air And people to breathe it all in There's not so much life here As there once had been Closer and closer We elipse each other in time The magnetism pulls us Regardless of the words we say Our own minds fool us To think it's another way Closer and closer We elipse each other in time A hollow shadow That touches us all around No one will be nearer Yet never utter a sound Closer and closer We elipse each other in time Closer and closer We eclipse each other in time
8.
The Crunch 02:36
The Crunch ========== Salad and oatmeal Wiped out, wound up Time's out, wake up I read a book I write a page outside In a gorcery store On a couch In a boat Just as I'm about to Grab the box The ceiling opens up I jumped To a rock It was awful green grass that day The birds, the lizards take turns Come on quick, I can't be late Come on quick, I can't be late
9.
Visible Product ============ She's never wrong She knows with who And how long It's the strangest form Of extra sensory perception I've seen No single detail Escapes her attention Like a Santa Claus for sex, She knows everything Perversions are clear Whether she likes it or not She's learned not to fear, Like many things She's taught herself She's never wrong She knows with whom And how long It's the strangest form Of character assessment I've seen Something deeper Than others can see She could be treated Like a fearsome alien being if they knew
10.
Lost Dog 05:04
Lost Dog ======== Even when you Were just brand new Less than one year old Didn't fit the mold Hard to be judged For unseen brains Surrounded by people On the train Something about this body Made them disregard Whether or not She was actually marred But sweet On the inside The mutt Keeps roaming From street to street Not even a chance For a second glance She walks through the crowd The silence is loud Ignoring the fact She's being ignored She's not interested But she's not bored It seems she's winning A different race If you catch a glimpse Of the smile on her face Sweet on the inside The mutt keeps roaming From street to street

about

Ypsilanti Records (2005)
While right in the middle of working on maven and Aurora, Fred Thomas (who played drums on a few m/A songs) approached the band with an offer to put out an album (of new songs, exclusive to this release), so Tina and Patrick took a short break, wrote and recorded 5 tracks each, all solo recordings.
The result was, yet again, a different view of these two songwriters. The first 50 copies were released on Ypsianti Records, with Wide-Eyed's subsequent re-release after those were gone.

about

Wide-Eyed Ypsilanti, Michigan

Formed in the beginning of 2001, Wide-Eyed is Tina Lambright and Patrick Pyne. Despite being a duo, they rotated instruments for recordings to make full, band-oriented songs of varying sounds and styles. Their music can be generally described as experimental pop, or psychedelic rock, but avoiding cliches of any genre. Serious, funny, abstract or direct, despite the dressing, enjoyment is the focus ... more
