about

An unreleased song, that never had the vocals recorded for it. I included the lyrics, because, judging by the notes I found, as i was compiling this collection, Tina (and I) put a lot of time, and re-writes into this song.
It was going to be arranged in a sort of XTC meets Sebadoh sort of way (by the notes made of the lyric sheets), obviously with our own slant to it, as well.

lyrics

Master Of All Rationalizations
=======================

For lunch he gets an hour
Usually at the diner's lunch counter
Heart-smart platter between the silver

Fattening fare, yet he cares about food
But today having cake and eating it too

Insert the right thoughts
In your head
Make sure those thoughts
Don't follow you to bed

Starts housework when she returns from work
Always makes sure there's coffee to perk
There with a smile, never a smirk

Everyone says she's such a nice girlfriend
They don't know violence is waiting at night's end

But the world's a better place
As long as your head's in the right space
If you have all the answers to the questions
Then you're the master of all rationalizations

He sits at his desk while others preserve order
Dreams of his golf game where he beats his brother
He must be president of something or other

Translates the language of corporations
But he's the master of all rationalizations

Insert the right filter
In front of the lens
Prepare for the litter
When the daydream ends

Despite being a duo, they rotated instruments for recordings to make full, band-oriented songs of varying sounds and styles. Their music can be generally described as experimental pop, or psychedelic rock, but avoiding cliches of any genre. Serious, funny, abstract or direct, despite the dressing, enjoyment is the focus ... more
