about

This song was written and re-written a few times, but the idea always was in trying to make the song give the listener the impression of a storm, rolling in at first, then focusing in its intensity, then rolling away.
The drums were played by Fred Thomas, who got the idea behind the song, and completely nailed the feel the band was trying to get on this song.
From the beginning, the various parts of the band are not lined up, and slowly start to fall in place, and for just one complete run-through of the phrase, the entire band is completely "locked in" with each other (the "peak of the storm"), then gradually things fall back apart for the remainder of the song.
Fred's own label, Ypsilanti Records, later released the group's 10 song album (titled by the label and date).

Their music can be generally described as experimental pop, or psychedelic rock, but avoiding cliches of any genre. Serious, funny, abstract or direct, despite the dressing, enjoyment is the focus ... more
