about

The original seeds for this song were written on 6/28/2000, before the band had been officially formed, so when it went through its first re-write on 4/29/2001, it began its long standing position as a song, ever in progress.

Over the years, the song was re-written, rearranged, and constantly re-worked with a number of various approaches. In the end, it was a song that never quite seemed to congeal in the way the band hoped it might. They were always trying to get a sense of confusion and disorientation, instilled into the song, while maintaining energy and drive.
This was the third recorded version (of at least 4).

Turned Around
============

Face the coming light
No path to be found
The sun in your eyes
No matter which way you turn

You've lost your head
Turned around

Chase the sunset
Confused in twilight
Caught in the headlights
Shadows in your eyes

Afraid in the dark
Turned around

Find north
Understand
The unevenness
Of land

Feel your body sinking
Under grains of sand
Floating -
Searching -
For any shore to land

Find your way
A path on the ground
When time delivers
The full daylight

And the world keeps on spinning
Living -
Turning 'round

Their music can be generally described as experimental pop, or psychedelic rock, but avoiding cliches of any genre. Serious, funny, abstract or direct, despite the dressing, enjoyment is the focus ... more
