about

This song was originally titled "Dead Fuzz" (the demo of which, appears on the Sky Pipes collection), but was renamed during a "title shift" that included a number of songs. This song was given the Winter Moon title, while Dead Fuzz was the title given to the band's following album.
This was one of the final songs completed in the making of the Aurora album (which also included the maven album songs).

When it was decided that we would revive this song, we decided to take a different approach to the sound, so we arranged each section for different instruments, essentially using every guitar and bass we had at that time, not to "show off our collection" but rather to make maximum use of the wide variety of sounds and very different tones we could get, from instrument to instrument, giving the song a constantly evolving and morphing sound.

Wide-Eyed Ypsilanti, Michigan

Formed in the beginning of 2001, Wide-Eyed is Tina Lambright and Patrick Pyne. Despite being a duo, they rotated instruments for recordings to make full, band-oriented songs of varying sounds and styles. Their music can be generally described as experimental pop, or psychedelic rock, but avoiding cliches of any genre. Serious, funny, abstract or direct, despite the dressing, enjoyment is the focus ... more
